Ingredients
- 1 pound beef, cut into 1-inch cubes
- 1 head of broccoli, cut into florets
- 1 red bell pepper, cut into pieces
- ½ bunch green onion, cut into 1-inch pieces
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- Black pepper to taste
- For marinating the beef:
- 1 teaspoon potato starch
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- ¼ teaspoon sugar
- 1 tablespoon cooking wine
- ½ tablespoon vegetable oil
- For the sauce:
- 3 tablespoons water
- 1 tablespoon dark soy sauce
- ½ tablespoon sesame oil
- ¼ teaspoon salt
- ¼ teaspoon sugar
Instructions
- Marinating the beef with potato starch, soy sauce, sugar, cooking wine and vegetable oil for 10 minutes.
- Whisk water, dark soy sauce, sesame oil, salt and sugar in a small bowl, set aside.
- Heat oil in a pan over medium heat, stir in the green onion and cook until fragrant.
- Add the beef and stir fry for 4-5 minutes until the beef has changed color.
- Stir in the broccoli and keep cooking for another 2 minutes until the broccoli starts to turn soft.
- Pour in the sauce made in step 2, add in the red bell pepper and simmer with lid off for 5-6 minutes or until the sauce has thickened.
- Sprinkle with black pepper to taste.

What type of beef do you use for this recipe?

For this recipe, I used flank steak, sirloin or ribeye are great choices too because of their tenderness.
